Public Notice

Due to a surge in cat intakes, the Finger Lakes SPCA finds itself with over 130 cats-more than twice our capacity. This means we have to take the extraordinary step of closing down cat admissions for the time being. In addition to the lack of physical space, our staff and resources are stretched very thin. Any further cats would put us in a position of not being able to care for them properly. If you have a cat or cats to surrender, you can call us and we can point you to other potential sources of help. We anticipate this necessary closure to last at least two weeks. We ask for the public's understanding as we do our absolute best to provide high-quality care to the animals we now have. And if you can provide extra financial support, we would be grateful. Our website (www.fingerlakesspca.org) has a couple ways to provide such support. Support by mail is also always welcome!
Michael Hopkins, Executive Director
