to sponsor a spay!

P*A*W* (Project Animal Welfare)

A joint effort of the Bath Veterinary Clinic and the Finger Lakes SPCA to help control cat and dog overpopulation in Steuben County. Once a month a cat or dog will be spayed or neutered by the Bath Veterinary Clinic at no charge to the guardian. This program helps supports low-income families (indviduals) that are unable to afford care for a cat or dog that continues to breed litters.

You can help stop the suffering. Support spay and neutering!

"Operation Catnip"

A subsidized spay/neuter program for healthy cats over 4 months that can be handled (not wild). The special mobile clinic is based on support of the local veterinary profession and the sponsors of our cat "Spay/Neuter Certificates". A limited number of sponsored Spay/Neuter cat Certificates are available for free. Otherwise, cost to limited income approved families for surgical materials and related expenses is $25.00 per cat.

Contact us to inquire if you and your dog or cat can qualify for assistance. We are in need of sponsors. Please call if you can help sponsor a cat for our next "Operation Catnip" clinic.

It is up to all of us to make a difference!

We care for, and deeply care about, each and every one of the 1,069 cat and dogs that came into our shelter in 2000. While every effort is made to find homes for each one of these animals, there are simply too many unwanted animals in our area. Please, spay or neuter your companion cats and dogs and encourage your friends and family members to do so as well. We are working hard through our spay/neuter clinics and community education programs to reduce the number of unwanted cats and dogs in our area.
