Frequently Asked Questions

Can individuals make anonymous donations?

Yes, Network For Good only passes us the information an individual provides if that is what the individual authorizes.

Does Network for Good take a cut, commission, or service fee for processing my contribution?

While Network For Good, NFG, takes no cut or commission for processing donations, a 3% fee is charged to nonprofits to defray the direct costs NFG incurs for processing donations. These "hard costs" include credit card fees, banking fees and check processing fees. Network for Good is itself a 501(c)(3) charity and makes no profit from the services they provide. If you wish the Finger Lakes SPCA to receive a specific amount then simply add an additional 3% to help us defray the cost of this service to for our supporters. Thank you.

Can I dedicate my donation to someone or make a donation on behalf of a person?

You can dedicate a donation to someone in particular, or make a donation on behalf of another person. This information may be entered in the Dedication field during the donation process. Network for Good will pass along the dedication request with your donation. At the end of the donation process, you have the option of sending an e-card to your donation designee. Just click Send Card on the final donation screen. If you have multiple donations (and multiple dedications), you may send multiple e-cards. There is the opportunity to send an e-card for each donation listed in your Giving Cart.

Does Finger Lakes SPCA have access to donor information collected on the site?

Yes - unless you designate your donation as anonymous. Network for Good is interested in strengthening the relationship between nonprofits and donors, so they tell nonprofits who has donated to them, unless you ask to remain anonymous - an option provided during the donation process.

Can I specify how the charity may use my donation?

Yes. When you make a donation via Network for Good, you may specify how you'd like your donation to be used by the charity by entering the information in the Designation field during the donation process. Network for Good will pass along the request with your donation.

Please note that Network for Good and Finger Lakes SPCA cannot guarantee that a request will be honored. If you are concerned about your donation being used for a specific purpose, please contact the Finger Lakes SPCA directly to make sure we are able to honor. The Finger Lakes SPCA has over 97% of all donations received (does not include the NFG on-line processing fee) go directly to work helping local animals.
